A Waxydude Original Review

*Disclaimer: Products were sent to me for reviewing purposes*

Billy, who we all know around the wax community as the Waxydude, has opened up shop and is now making wax under the name Waxydude Original. He contacted me about sending out a box of goodies to sample and review which I have shared my thoughts on each below.  You can check out his site here . He has ready to ship items on the site along with Harry Potter Samplers coming soon!

Ripened Watermelon- "Sparkling Grapefruit, Sweet Honeydew, Juicy Watermelon, Basil Leaves, Lemongrass and Raspberry Seeds"

These festive shapes just screamed to be melted on Easter Sunday. It was late into the evening after everything had settled down from the festivities of the day that I had, had the chance to come home and peek inside the box. Ripened Watermelon was the first out of the box and might I add the first that I could smell upon opening. Much more complex than your ordinary watermelon with a deep red raspberry and grapefruit lingering in the background on cold. I threw an egg on to melt and after 15 minutes I was able to get a solid medium  fragrance in my bedroom.  My husband asked what I was melting as he mentioned that he smelled something that reminded him of fruity gum. He approved.

Southern Sheets- Fresh Laundry, Delicate Florals, Earthy Greens, Dew Drops, Orange Blossoms, Warm Woods, A Hint of Citrus and Floral Accord.

About half the swirl threw at about a medium in my bedroom as I was winding down for bed which gave my room a cozy type feel. The laundry leans more towards the Downey dryer sheets to my nose. It is fresh with an added citrus for that extra bit of clean without being headache inducing or powdery.

Lilac + Lemon Verbena-

Self explanatory but very well done.
I believe even the floral haters can enjoy this one. Sure, there is a hint of lilac but I feel it only extenuates the tartness of the lemon in the fragrance and just adds to it making it unique and well rounded. Very nice and melts strong with half a swirl.

Cuban Pals- Entergetic Grapefruit, Bergamont, Citrus, Floral Accords, Tobacco Flower, Patchouli and Warm Woods

I'm not a fan of tobacco, Patchouli, or strong florals and musk so this melt wasn't my type of scent. It could be for the fresh scent lovers out there though. It did have a slight Barbasol cream note to it at first on cold but in the end it came off too overwhelming.

Beach Hut Pie- Citrus Accents,Green Tones, Exotic Mango, Papaya and Musk and Key Lime Pie.

The fluted tart threw very well in my bedroom Glade at a strong throw for 4 hours before turning it off for the night. The citrus, fruity blend reminds me of Fruity Pebbles or Fruit Loops with undertones of musk.

Billy's Tea- Earthy Greens, Fresh Tea Leaves,Floral Accords, A Hint of Fruit and Southern Musk

I know this was a known favorite before Billy even opened by many who had tried it. It is very strong on cold of floral tea leaves and musky undertones which I must be honest kind of turns my stomach as I'm just not a fan of strong musk and florals. Nothing against this blend or the vendor, it is just not my scent preference.

Magic Tiki- A Blend of Tiki Bar and Magic Breeze.

Let's just take a moment and admire the beauty that is this heart. CHOP! Sorry guys, I had to do it to review. Tiki bar is a blend of tropical fruits and mixed boozy drinks while Magic Breeze is herbal. Bring the two together and it creates more of a tropical oasis of morning dew drops fresh on palm leaves. Half of a heart threw at a medium in my kitchen/living room area.

Magic Breeze-Citrus Juices, Fresh Dew Drops, Lavender, Herbaceous Greens, Pepper, Patchouli and Herbs.

Mostly the herbaceous greens is what can be detected on cold with a sprinkle of pepper. Once warmed I mostly detect a peppery lavender that leans more towards the iron like /true lavender instead of sweet lavender. Cut in fourths, it threw very strong in my bathroom.

Samples:

Blueberry Muffin Caramel Marshmallow-

One word: YUM.
Gooey, decadent caramel drinches the tops of fresh blueberry muffins right out of the oven. Two tiny pieces were given in the sample but I was careful and only put one in my bedroom as most blueberry scents are strong and this was no different. Even with one piece, it threw my husband and I out of our bedroom having me turn off the warmer. It smells amazing but it is super super strong so melt with caution. I'll melt the other piece in my open living room area next.

Sage Infused Pineapple Slices-

Very reminiscent of a Bath and Body Works candle Pinapple Lily except for the floral has been replaced with fresh herb to liven up the scent. Usually I do not go near sage in scents but the pineapple really saves this melt and makes it scrumptious.

Have you placed an order with this vendor? What are some of your favorites? What are your thoughts?
